Nationals complete sweep of Bellingham

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Glacier Nationals killed nine penalties and goaltender Tyler Huberty stopped 26 of 27 shots in Glacier’s 2-1 win over the Bellingham Blazers Saturday.

The win completed a two-game sweep of the Blazers and improved Glacier’s NORPAC record to 8-2-1 (9-8-1 overall).

After a scoreless first period, Tucker Spooner put the Nationals on the board 14 minutes and 23 seconds into the second with an unassisted goal.

Adam Dalton added to Glacier’s tally early in the third period, scoring a power-play goal on assists from Kyle Watne and Daniel Roe.

Bellingham (5-11-1) scored its only goal with 35 seconds remaining in the third period.

The Nationals return home to Whitefish Friday and Saturday for a series against first-place West Sound at Stumptown Ice Den.
