Questionable prank calls called in

A group of merry pranksters was reported to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after calling an Electric Avenue resident in Bigfork twice, with a group of teenage girls on the other end yelling, “Help, he’s going to kill us,” followed by laughter in the background.

A person trying to do his part by reporting marijuana residue in a house being foreclosed on was told that the drug task force was already aware of drug issues at the property.

A customer went above and beyond to help a business on Montana 35, chasing down and catching a boy trying to escape from the parking lot after shoplifting from the business.

A man was arrested after being escorted off a train on Depot Street for being disorderly during the trip.

Someone tried to pry open an electrical gate at a South Wakewood Drive property where thefts had occurred in the past.

A sport utility vehicle with tinted rear windows was seen repeatedly driving around the block in the area of Sixth Avenue West and blowing through stop signs.

A woman was arrested during a traffic stop on Willow Glen Drive.

Someone tried to break into a vehicle on Derns Road.

A package was stolen from a West Cottonwood Drive mailbox.


The Kalispell Police Department received several reports of thefts between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, including a flute stolen from a school on Northwest Lane, several items stolen from a vehicle on Windward Way, a bag full of rock-climbing gear stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Fourth Street West, a backpack with a laptop inside stolen from an unlocked vehicle on East Idaho Street, a smartphone stolen on South Main Street and medication stolen from a post office on North Meridian Road.

A very upset woman reported someone might be stalking her house after she received texts from an unknown number talking about things in her house, including the baby who lives there.

A pillowcase containing a scale, used needles, spoons and baggies with white residue was found in a store on U.S. 2 West.

A motorist was cited for careless driving after a collision on First Avenue West.

A man was reported trying to fight everyone in a bar on U.S. 93 South.

A motorist was arrested during a traffic stop on U.S. 2 East.


A report of a person sleeping on the sidewalk on East Fourth Street led Whitefish Police Department to locate a semiconscious woman with blood on her face who was transported to North Valley Hospital.

A fed-up Copperwood Court resident told police his neighbor had one or two roosters and didn’t believe it was legal. It turned out that someone had dumped the roosters at the property and the resident was trying to get rid of them.

A drunk teenage girl was reported staggering into the road on West Second Street, causing cars to stop so they didn’t hit her.

A man was arrested for shoplifting from a U.S. 93 South business.


The Polson Police Department received a report of theft at an apartment on Rocky Point Road.
