The Stillwater Christian (17-0, 5-0 MCAA) volleyball team remained unbeaten with a 25-13, 25-20, 25-14 nonconference win over Eureka Tuesday at Stillwater Christian School.

“Our girls came out to play hard and its really neat to see them working together and having strong team chemistry,” Stillwater Christian coach Diane Smith said.

Jordan Danz and Sarah Paolini led Stillwater with 10 kills apiece while setter Morgan Paolini tallied 22 assists and two blocks.

Eureka was the only team to defeat Stillwater Christian last season, and Smith said the Lions are always a tough opponent.

“They always bring strong competition,” she said. “The unfortunate thing tonight was they were dealing with some injuries and had to alter their lineup.”

Stillwater travels to Flathead Valley Home School on Saturday.

Eureka hosts Bigfork on Saturday.

Kills - Eureka 21 (Jenna Peterson 10), Stillwater 32 (Jordan Danz 10, Sarah Paolini 10). Assists - Eureka 15 (Mikayla Grove 10), Stillwater 26 (Morgan Paolini 22). BIGFORK — Bigfork hung with Missoula Loyola Sacred Heart in its homecoming volleyball match, taking the Breakers to the brink in every set before losing in four, 25-18, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23.

“I was proud how they kept fighting,” Bigfork coach Tracy Wicklund said. “It could’ve gone either way on all those sets. The girls were scrappy tonight, I like to see that.”

The Valkyries got a big game from junior Tessa Robertson, who led the team with two blocks, three aces and seven kills.

“She did a great job,” Wicklund said. “She was really dominant at the net, and did really great on her serves.”
