Jeffrey 'Jeff' Helgert, 57

| October 6, 2012 7:09 PM

Jeffrey “Jeff” Helgert, 57, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.

He was the son of Raymond and Marjorie Helgert.

For most of his life Jeff held independent jobs, including working in the forests, at his own pace and time.

He was a strong man and he showed that in his independence and his refusal to back down.

Jeff passed away in his wilderness home in Stryker as a free man in a place he adored and with his loved ones by his side. It may have seemed like a sudden loss to his family and his friends, yet may there be comfort and joy in knowing “he now rejoices with his Heavenly Father.”

Jeff Helgert was a man of God. He also was “blessed by our Lord with a Moose tag,” which he had been hoping and praying to get for many years. His last wish came true, an unforgettable experience withan unforgettable man. His family at his side and a wonderful story for years to come. “The Lord honored him with the moose he dreamt about” which he received with a childlike joy and excitement.

Thanks be to God for an incredible man to have been a part of our lives. We will always love and adore Jeff. To all from Jeff, “no tears, no regrets.”

Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
