SPOKANE, Wash. — Flathead ran out of steam, finishing 13th in the Spokane Crossover Tournament after two days of games in Montana and Idaho.

The Bravettes won their pool in the morning, beating Lewiston, Idaho, and Cascade (Leavenworth, Wash.) in two sets and losing to Eisenhower (Yakima, Wash.) in three.

In the top 16 bracket, Flathead lost its first match, falling in the third set to Riverside (Chattaroy, Wash.). After losing again in the consolation bracket to West Valley (Spokane), the Bravettes beat East Valley (Spokane) 25-22 to finish 13th.

“Our girls were wiped out,” Flathead coach Leon Wilcox said.

“By the time we got done with pool play, they were done. They played their hearts out, played really well, their tanks were empty.”

Flathead gets a short rest before playing Hellgate in Missoula on Tuesday. The Bravettes take a break after that, not taking the court again until Oct. 18 at Helena High.
