Flathead High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 24 new members Oct. 2.

The new members are sophomores through seniors: Paige Birky, Rebecca Boone, Chandler Escalante, Christopher Johnson, Tia Kohs, Hunter Linstead, Zoe Laudermilk, Andrea Love, Mallorie Mason, Alaina Mothershead, Anna Milheim, Janae Moon, Daniel Olszewski, Kacie Osterday, Hannah Peterson, Carson Regoli, Emma Sauve, Bodie Schieffer, Ellen Schuster, Lauren Utterback, Katie Weed, Kelsey Weed, Meredith Wilson and Geneva Zoltek.

The National Honor Society recognizes high-achieving students who show qualities of leadership and character.

To be inducted, Flathead students need to fulfill certain requirements, according to adviser Melanie Dardis, including holding a leadership position, having a 3.5 grade-point average, participation in school activities and completion of 14 hours of community service yearly.

“The students are all vetted by the teaching staff to assure their honor is of the highest expectations,” Dardis said.
