Football roundup: Polson tops Libby, Loyola blasts Bigfork

LIBBY — Colton Lenz ran for two touchdowns and Andrew Weltz threw a pair of touchdown passes to Will Davey as No. 3 Polson (7-0 overall, 4-0 league) blasted Libby 44-0 in Northwestern A football play Friday night.

Polson’s defense held Libby (3-5, 0-3) to minus-5 yards rushing and 61 yards passing. Polson had 435 yards in total offense.

Lenz rushed for 110 yards on 15 attempts.

Davey had five receptions for 117 yards.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Kyle Cyr was on the receiving end of two touchdown passes — 27 and 50 yards — from John Chapman and Dan Lebsock ran for two scores as Frenchtown (4-2, 2-1)whipped Columbia Falls in Northwestern A action.

Columbia Falls (3-4, 1-2) scored on a 15-yard pass from Jared Trinastich to Josiah Osborne.

Trinastich was 18 of 36 passing for 158 yards.

Zach Darling led the Wildcats in rushing with 76 yards on nine attempts.

Dyllon Parker had seven receptions for 86 yards for Columbia Falls.

MISSOULA — Bo Hughes tossed three touchdown passes to Josh Janssen, Austin Dahlen ran for two scores and Tony Madsen returned an interception 42 yards for another touchdown as No. 4 Missoula Loyola blasted No. 5 Bigfork in nonconference Class B action.

Loyola, which had dropped two straight to Bigfork, rolled up a 35-0 advantage at the half.

“They were better than us tonight,” Bigfork coach Todd Emslie said.

“We were down there knocking at the door. We just didn’t get it done.”

Both teams came in 6-0 overall.

WHITEFISH — Luke May ran for a touchdown and passed for two more, but it wasn’t quite enough to help Whitefish (3-5) as the Bulldogs dropped a nonconference Class A contest to Belgrade (5-3).

May hit Sean Foley on a 13 yard TD pass and Walter Holliday on a 24-yard scoring strike. May scampered 15 yards for his other score.

May was 18 of 31 passing for 199 yards. He also rushed for 84 yards on 11 carries.

Logan Harwood had seven receptions for 69 yards, Foley had seven for 70 yards and Holliday two for 43.
