Both finished 7-1 in league play.

Eureka recovered from a lackluster opening two sets to sweep the final three, Cassidy Morgan picking up 15 kills and Alex Holland with 36 of Eureka’s 112 digs.

“It was definitely a very emotional game for a lot of the girls,” Eureka coach Shauna Baker said. “The crowd was very exciting. There was a few girls that were not going to lose this game and you could tell.”

The Lions will have one of the top two seeds at the District 7B tournament on Saturday in Bigfork.

The Pirates, playing without two regular starters, were out of sync in the first two sets, but recovered enough to force a fifth.

“It took us a couple games to get moving,” Polson coach Jan Toth said. “We were just so inconsistent in our play. We missed 13 serves ... We missed three in last game. You can’t do that after you work so hard to gain momentum.”

Heidi Rausch had a match-high 18 kills and was one of three Pirates with two blocks. Shalaina Duford led Polson with 23 digs and 40 assists.

“Dillon’s a tough team,” Toth said. “They’re a big team and have the best libero I’ve seen.”
