Bigfork to host 7B volleyball tourney

Bigfork High School hosts the District 7B volleyball Saturday with four spots at divisionals up for grabs.

Fourth-seeded Bigfork plays fifth-seeded Plains at 10 a.m. for a divisional berth. The winner advances to play top-seeded Thompson Falls at 1:30 p.m. The other first-round match pits second-seeded Eureka against third-seeded Troy at noon.

Bigfork defeated Plains in their two regular season matches, winning the first meeting 3-1 at home, then sweeping Plains on the road Oct. 16.

Defending District 7B champion Thompson Falls split the regular season title with Eureka. Thompson Falls won the first meeting 3-1 on Sept. 29. Eureka got revenge in its regular season finale, beating Thompson Falls in five sets on Saturday.

The District 7B third-place match is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. The championship match will begin at 6 p.m.

The top four teams from District 7B advance to the Western B Divisional Nov. 1-3 in Ronan.
