Glacier football up to No. 2
Glacier garnered three first place votes and moved up to No. 2 in this week’s Class AA football poll, soaring three spots on the back of a six-game win streak.
The Wolfpack is in a five-way tie atop the conference at 7-2, but has gained respect with its impressive performances over the past month and a half. Helena High, one of the two teams to top Glacier this season, holds the top spot and Billings West, which is on a five-game win streak, is in third. Former No. 1 Butte dropped to No. 4 and Great Falls C.M. Russell rounds out the top five.
Polson kept its spot as the third-ranked team in Class A, with the top five remaining unchanged. Billings Central is in the top spot, again getting all eight first-place votes, with Dillon ranked second.
Bigfork gained a spot in Class B, moving into seventh as the playoffs are set to begin. Manhattan enters the playoffs in first, where it will host Eureka. Malta held on to the No. 2 ranking with Missoula Loyola, Red Lodge and Fairfield rounding out the top five. Choteau, Bigfork’s opponent on Friday, was the top team receiving votes.
Fairview continues to be the top team in Class C 8-Man as does Hot Springs in 6-Man.
