Benghazi reveals depth of failure & corruption
The 9/11 terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi not only illustrates the abject failure of this administration’s foreign policy, but it serves as a perfect example of the corruption and lies Mr. Obama has no qualms about employing for myopic political expediency and callous anti-American crusading.
If this was Obama’s only crime, he would not be the first politician blinded by self-absorption and power lust.
However, the president and the State Department’s handling of this tragedy both before and after can only be described as treasonous. Indeed, Obama has lived up to the title of “apologist in chief” as he went before the UN, the world and our enemies to blithely repeat the lie over and over that our consulate in Libya was spontaneously attacked by angry mobs because of a move trailer that allegedly “insulted Islam.”
Ah… OK. So what if it did insult anyone? Is our president now the official apologist for Islam in the now not-so-free world? Last I checked, freedom of speech and religious expression in our American republic were inalienable rights under the Constitution; self-evident rights of a free people that my ancestors fought and died to preserve. Sadly, our freedoms are being incrementally destroyed by this kind of politically correct catering to extremism and capitulation to intimidation. Is America now under sharia law where a movie producer can be thrown in prison for exercising freedom of speech?
Extreme tolerance for those who are extremely intolerant will be the demise of our nation. Unless we can freely express dissent and even disdain for morally reprehensible and intolerant views that are contrary to life and liberty, I fear we have lost the very reason our great republic was founded in the first place.
The disproportionate blame placed on the movie trailer is more than just a pathetic smoke screen. Any other version of events in Libya would necessitate the admission that this was indeed a planned terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11. Not only is the State Department account of the attack on our embassy in Benghazi patently false, contradicting the Libyan government’s own assessment of events, it plays right into the hands of the very extremists who forever changed the world on Sept. 11, 2001, and killed over 3,000 people on American soil.
As Obama appeases our enemies with insipid and flaccid attempts to paste over the blunders of his failed foreign policy, it jeopardizes the security of all Americans. In fact, we now have the leader of al-Qaida encouraging Muslims to wage holy war against the United States and Israel in response our appeasement of the murderous thugs that danced in the streets on 9/11.
All this is bad enough by itself, but our government actually ignored the ambassador’s request for more security at the Libyan embassy compound. Even if there had been no request for increased security, America was directly involved in the bloody civil war that toppled the Qaddafi regime. Adding insult to injury, the Obama administration is complicit in the attack on our embassy by inciting uprisings throughout the Middle East with inflammatory and empty rhetoric about “democracy.”
Mr. Obama, Islamic extremism is incompatible with democracy. Libya was and is a war zone! This alone should have been reason enough to either put the necessary security force in place to keep the embassy safe, or fold up shop and go home.
We do not have an embassy in Iran today because Nov. 4, 1979, made the world a much more dangerous place for life and liberty. That foreign policy blunder was the result of the incompetent and failed presidency of Peanut Jimmy.
Four years of Obama have been more than enough punishment for America. Its time to restore American values and rid ourselves of the Impostor in Chief and his corrupt fraudulent Machiavellian regime.
