A 20-year-old Whitefish man was sentenced Oct. 25 in Flathead District Court to five years in prison and five years of probation after pleading guilty to felony bail jumping.

Dustin Donsbach was charged after he failed to appear for a sentencing hearing on May 15. Donsbach and his brother, Colton, had been convicted of felony theft for stealing more than $2,000 worth of items from a vehicle in February 2011.

During his Oct. 25 hearing, Donsbach was given a sentence of five years in prison and five years suspended for the theft conviction and a further suspended five years for the bail jumping charge, to run concurrently with his first sentence.

In addition to prison time, Donsbach and his brother were ordered to pay $12,626 in restitution connected to the theft as well as several other thefts for which they were not charged.

He also was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, an $800 public defender fee and a $160 surcharge.
