Smoking kids spark Kalispell grass fire

Saturday evening, the Kalispell Fire Department was called out to extinguish a field fire behind some apartments on Airport Road. The fire grew to about an acre before it was put out. The department said it was caused by children who were smoking.

A woman told the Kalispell Police Department she was out eating lunch with a friend a month ago when she was approached by a 400-pound man who threatened her about talking too loudly.

A man reported getting an inappropriate message from his cousin.

Someone on Third Street West wanted to talk to an officer about people speeding in the neighborhood.

A purse was found on First Avenue East North and turned in to police.

A woman complained that her ex-boyfriend was threatening her, saying that if she went out he and one of his friends would find her and beat her up.

Transients panhandling at East Idaho Street and Third Avenue East North agreed to move along.

Early Sunday morning, one man was taken into custody after police responded to a fight on Montana 35.

Police were called out to a suspected underage drinking party on Second Avenue East North. One person was cited, several ran and got away.

A woman on Sleepy Hollow Road said someone outside was banging on her home’s sliding door and broke the glass. Her husband was with her at the time and had a gun. They requested extra patrols.

Several people were taken into custody when police responded to a verbal disturbance at Third Street West and Third Avenue West.

Someone reported finding syringes and vials in the street at Eighth Avenue West and Eighth Street West.

A man told police he had questions about taking pictures of police cars.

A woman on South Woodland Drive said she found a sharp arrowhead on the sidewalk in front of her house. She was concerned that it may have been shot at her dog.

Saturday night, a theft was reported on Columbia Avenue to the Whitefish Police Department.

Police were called out to a verbal disturbance on Wisconsin Avenue early Sunday morning.

Animal cruelty was reported on Central Avenue.

An assault was reported on East First Street.

A fight was reported on Spokane Avenue.

Saturday night, Columbia Falls Police pursued two men who reportedly kicked in the door of apartment and entered it on Fifth Street West. The men fled in a vehicle when police arrived at the scene and on foot after they crashed at Sixth Avenue West and Eighth Street.

Early Sunday morning, officers were attempting to locate a silver hatchback that crashed into a boat parked on 12th Avenue West and then drove off.
