Late TD pass rallies Dogs past Browning

BROWNING — Shane Marcial hauled in a 31-yard touchdown pass from Luke May with 1:01 remaining, lifting Whitefish (2-1) to a 30-25 come-from-behind nonconference Class A football victory over Browning Friday night.

May earlier connected with Logan Harwood on two TD strikes covering 70 and 26 yards.

Marcial, 19 carries for 202 yards, also had 5 and 18 yard touchdown scampers.

May was 10 of 13 passing for 233 yards.

Harwood had four receptions for 121 yards.

DEER LODGE — Bigfork (2-0) was lethal through the air, beating Deer Lodge in nonconference Class B play.

Colter Trent threw four touchdown passes, two of them to Austin Jordt covering 28 and 31 yards.

Chris Landon, 81 yards, and Josh Sandry, 38 yards, had the other TD receptions.

Sandry was also a star on defense with two interceptions.

EUREKA — Close for awhile, but Missoula Loyola (2-0) used a 34-point second quarter to pull away from Eureka (0-2) for the Class B nonconference victory.

Eureka’s Chris Ibach tied the score early in the second quarter at 7-all with his 30-yard touchdown run and Cole Jankovsky’s extra point kick. But it was all Loyola after that.

Ibach finished with 155 yards rushing on 19 carries.

Jankovsky had 24 yards on six attempts.

Eureka QB Austin Perez was 6 of 11 passing for 55 yards. He threw one interception.

STEVENSVILLE — Stevensville jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead and coasted from there to an easy Class A nonconference victory over Columbia Falls.

Columbia Falls (0-2) scored on a 65-yard pass from Jared Trinastich to Zach Darling and a 1-yard run by Ty Morgan.

LIBBY — Skyler Higareda scored twice in the second half on short runs and DJ Maefau and Patrick Valentine also ran for TDs to help Libby (3-0) overtake Corvallis in Class A nonconference play.

Corvallis led 12-7 at the half.

Jared Winslow hit Lane Luscher on an 18-yard TD strike to get Libby on the board first in the opening quarter.

Valentine was perfect on four extra point kicks.

HAMILTON — Colton Lenz had touchdown runs of 6, 8 and 8 yards, Brady Hislop kicked two field goals and Will Davey returned an interception 74 yards for another score as Polson (2-0) whipped Hamilton in Class A nonconference play.

Hislop’s field goals were from 21 and 31 yards.
