HELENA — The Glacier boys soccer team held on after a strong first half to beat Helena Capital 1-0 on Friday.

“It was a hard fought game by both teams,” Glacier coach Ryan O’Rourke said. “We had the stronger first half, Capital probably had the stronger second half. It was kinda one of the cases of us holding on. We did what had to to keep ball out of the back of the net.”

The Wolfpack (3-0) got the game winner in the 34th minute on a beautiful pass from Matt Peters to Colton Becker. Peters won possession between three defenders, then found a sweeping Becker for the strike past the Capital keeper.

The game was the first of a two-day swing in the state’s capital. Glacier will take on conference leaders Helena High today.
