Wildlife officials are searching for a wounded grizzly bear in the Trego area.

Lee Anderson, regional warden captain for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, said a wounded grizzly bear may be at large in the Butcher Creek drainage near Trego.

Efforts were made to find the bear over the weekend but these efforts were unsuccessful.

Anderson asks recreationists in the area to exercise caution and to report any sightings of a grizzly bear to Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

The state wildlife agency and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are investigating the incident involving the bear.
