Vehicle stolen, but it was an accident

A man contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office after his vehicle, which had chrome alloy wheels and tinted windows, was stolen when he left it running while he went inside a store on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell. The vehicle was later located in Evergreen, where it was discovered that an elderly man with a history of medical conditions had gotten into the wrong vehicle and drove it home. No charges were pressed.

A Harmony Road resident reported a boy on a skateboard and a girl on foot were making out heavily in the street in front of his home. He had left his home, but said police should respond because he was sure “they are probably shedding clothes at this point,” and said he was very disturbed and that “their parents need to be spoken to.”

A Second Street West North resident in Columbia Falls reported he saw his neighbor across the street shoot his dog with a BB gun, and the dog yipped after being shot. He also claimed the neighbor had shot toward his sister’s house and the dogs in the past. All the animals were checked out and seemed to be fine.

A resident of Fourth Street West in Hungry Horse reported being assaulted after trying to approach the owners of several dogs that have caused ongoing issues.

A Grand Drive resident in Bigfork said he has been falsely accused of criminal mischief and wants to press charges for false accusations.

Shots were reported in an area of Grand Drive in Bigfork where ongoing vandalism has been an issue.

The Kalispell Police Department received a call from a Heritage Way man who reported his wife was missing. By the time of his report, his wife had already contacted dispatch twice, and upon further contact told police to let her husband know she was fine and not missing.

A Sherry Lane man reported he found his deck on fire early in the morning and put it out with a hose. He said it seemed suspicious and that he has had problems with an ex in the past.

A Fifth Avenue West woman reported her brother had been trying to abduct her dog. When officers contacted the man, he said he had taken the dog to Columbia Falls to have someone else take care of it because it was very sick and needed medical attention. He said the dog was doing better and his sister could come get it back any time.

A Third Avenue West resident complained that a neighbor has about 35 cats that run loose and all over the resident’s yard.

An employee of a Third Avenue East North store reported there was a man attempting to shoplift, stuffing things in his sweatshirt. The incident was caught on a security camera.

A Sixth Avenue East resident reported someone threw a full beer can at their vehicle, breaking out a taillight.

A boat was vandalized on Fifth Avenue East. The vandal pulled all the tarps off the boat, siphoned out the gas and moved the hoses on the engine.

Drug activity was reported on First Avenue East.

Columbia Falls Police Department officers arrested a woman on a warrant during a traffic stop on Ninth Street West. She later posted bond and was released to her family.
