Porch, Iverson, Avery top Wolfpack at Helena Invitational
HELENA — Glacier’s Ryan Porch and Logan Iverson took an early lead at the Helena Invitational at Bill Roberts Golf Course on Thursday, pacing the team to a slight advantage after the first day.
Porch currently sits in first place with a 68 and Iverson sits in second with a 69. Billings Skyview’s Payton Stott and Missoula Sentinel’s Hunter Anderson are tied for third at 70.
The Wolfpack boys hold a slight lead in the team standings, sitting at 288, three points ahead of Billings Senior.
Flathead’s Max Applegate is still in the hunt, sitting in fifth place with a first-round score of 72. The Braves are also in fifth place as a team.
The Glacier girls sit five shots back in third place after a team score of 338 at Green Meadow Country Club. Teigan Avery is two strokes behind current leader Sammy Walter, of Missoula Sentinel, in a tie for fourth place by shooting a first-round 79.
Kaydee Aurich and Hannah Davis are each tied for ninth at 85.
The Flathead girls are in sixth after the first day, led by Geneva Zoltek, who shot a 91.
