Tuesday is the last day to vote for Kalispell Public Schools’ $3.35 million elementary bond request.

Regular polling places will not be open for this mail-ballot election, which is open only to registered voters living in the Kalispell elementary school district. People living in other elementary districts that feed into Kalispell high schools are not eligible to vote on the bond request.

Voters may drop off ballots at the Central Administration Office located on the third floor above the Flathead County Library, 233 First Ave. E., Kalispell between 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

If approved, bond money would build a multipurpose room and four classrooms at Peterson Elementary and four classrooms at Edgerton Elementary School to alleviate elementary overcrowding.

Money also would build a new central kitchen near Kalispell Middle School.

Passage of the bond request would cost owners of a home valued at $100,000 an extra $9.48 a year in property tax. Owners of a home valued at $200,000 would have an annual tax increase of $18.95.
