Stillwater Christian School stayed undefeated on the season through 11 matches with a 25-15, 28-30, 25-21, 25-20 nonconference volleyball victory over Whitefish at SCS on Saturday.

“This was by far our toughest match,” Stillwater coach Diane Smith said.

“The Stillwater girls came out strong in the first set. The Bulldogs came out in the second set ready to dominate. They never let down their intensity. I saw some strong mental toughness, which carried us through to the end for the win.”

Jordan Danz had 17 kills, 12 digs and two blocks for Stillwater.

Sarah Paolini finished with nine kills, two blocks, 15 digs and four aces.

Bailee Tveidt led Whitefish in kills with 10 and shared the team high in digs with Bekah Weaver, 12 each.

Weaver also had 27 assists.

Stillwater has a nonconference match on Tuesday at Eureka.

Whitefish is off until Saturday when it plays visiting Polson.

Polson 3, Libby 0

POLSON — Despite trailing in all three sets, Polson swept Libby 25-17, 26-24, 25-22 in a Northwestern A volleyball match.

“It was a dogfight through the whole match,” Polson coach Janine Toth said. “Every game they got 5, 6 points up on us and my girls were able to close that gap and take it away each game.

“Libby was really scrappy. In order for us to score, we had to put the ball down because they played great defense.”

Chloie Huerta and Tina Marquardt each tallied seven kills to lead Polson’s offense, while Heidi Rausch returned from an injury to lead Polson with three blocks.

“She did a great job being a leader on the court and they had a tough time hitting around her,” Toth said of Rausch.

Polson had 13 aces in the match, and Toth said her team’s serving was a key to the win.

“They had a tough time passing our serves,” she said. “My servers were in battle mode tonight at the service line.”

Polson returns to the court Tuesday against Missoula Loyola.

Libby hosts Columbia Falls Saturday.
