Ronald G. MacDonald, 62

| September 25, 2012 10:06 PM

Ronald G. MacDonald passed away on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Community Hospital of Anaconda. He and some of his friends were four-wheeling near Georgetown Lake and “early that morning his Lord and Maker called him home.”

Ron was born Dec. 15, 1949, in Kalispell, to Ronald and Mary MacDonald. He was raised in Kalispell.

He served in the United States Army Reserve for 22 years, including service in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Ron worked for Mission Valley Power for 33 years, retiring in 2007.

Ron truly lived life to the fullest, spending his free time four-wheeling, Jeeping, camping, boating and helping friends in need whenever he got the chance. He spent the winters of his retired life in Yuma, Ariz., and his summers going from one outdoor activity to the next. If you ever had the chance to meet Ron, you know he was the most caring, loving, considerate and ornery person alive. Anywhere he went he met new friends and every town he visited he made sure to stop in and see them.

Survivors include his children, Angie Ripple and Brian, Michael MacDonald and Erin, Rona MacDonald, and Alexis Fritz and Ryan; his mother, Mary MacDonald; his siblings, Marilyn Smith and Art and Jeanette Wetzel; his grandchildren, Casen, Deakon and Josie Ripple; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda MacDonald; and father, Ronald MacDonald.

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Foster Funeral Home in St. Ignatius. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Christian Church, 220 North Main Street St. Ignatius, followed by a reception. Burial services will take place at Pleasant View Cemetery in St. Ignatius after the service.
