Man taken to hotel after trying to break in

Kalispell Police got a report Tuesday night from a babysitter regarding a drunk man trying to break into a house on North Main Street. The man, who claimed he lived there, was taken to a nearby hotel by an officer.

Earlier in the day, there was a report of a rock being thrown through a window of a business on Airport Road.

A man called from First Avenue East with questions about being able to drive a vehicle without a windshield, because his windshield was recently shattered by someone.

A woman calling from Fourth Avenue East reported that her ex-boyfriend had broken into the house through a screened window.

A man calling from a Sinopah Street residence reported that his ex-roommate and his mother were in a physical altercation.

A woman calling from Birchwood Court reported that her daughter had taken a vehicle without permission. The daughter was located and taken back to her mother, with arrangements made to pick up the vehicle later.

Wednesday morning, a Quincy Loop resident reported a theft of money and a wedding ring.

There was a report of a break-in at a business on North Meridian Road, with the perpetrator getting into cheese and drink mixes.

There was a report of a fight between two students in the commons area at Glacier High School.


The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Tuesday of “very suspicious people” staying in a camper for the last week at a location off U.S. 2 west of Kalispell, where they were reportedly watching kids get on school buses. The people were told to move along.

There was a report of moose antlers being stolen from a back patio at a residence on Lakeside Boulevard.

A manager of a store on Montana 35 in Bigfork reported that a woman stole a pregnancy test and the theft was captured on film.

There was a report of a front grill being stolen from a plow truck on Ninth Street West in the Columbia Falls area.

A resident of South Crestview Terrace in the Bigfork area reported that last Friday, someone rang the doorbell but no one was at the door. The next morning, the reporting party found that someone had defecated in the back of her vehicle.

A person calling from U.S. 2 west of Columbia Falls reported that last week, someone stole a backpack with expensive binoculars, a knife and other hunting items from his vehicle.

A woman calling from Ridgewood Drive reported that someone stole her purse and was writing checks on her bank account.

A woman calling from Addison Square in the Kalispell area reported finding the remains of a homemade bomb in her mailbox.

There was a report of a back door on a garage being kicked in on Haven Drive.

There was a report of two intoxicated men arguing with cooks at a restaurant on U.S. 93 west of Whitefish.

Early Wednesday, at about 4 a.m., a man calling from One Way in the Columbia Falls area reported that an intoxicated woman punched and choked him.
