Football roundup: Bigfork blasts Troy; Polson trips Whitefish
BIGFORK — Colter Trent threw four touchdown passes, three to Austin Jordt, and Jordt was perfect on seven extra-point kicks as fifth-ranked Bigfork crushed Troy 49-6 in District 7B football play Friday night.
Trent was 16 of 22 passing for 214 yards. He threw one interception.
Jordt caught eight passes for 136 yards. His TD receptions were 13, 30 and 37 yards.
Boyde Rieke led the Bigfork ground game with 19 carries for 131 yards. He had TD runs of 5 and 2 yards.
Bigfork (5-0 overall, 2-0 league) rolled up 415 yards in total offense to 153 for Troy (0-5, 0-2).
Jordt, Blake Weimer and Chris Landon had interceptions.
“It was a very balanced game, passing and rushing,” Bigfork coach Todd Emslie said.
“Colter had a great night throwing and the line had a great night blocking.”

POLSON — Fifth-ranked Polson stayed undefeated on the Class A season with a triumph over Whitefish in a Northwestern A conference contest.
Polson (5-0, 2-0) led 28-3 at the half.
Drew Qvam and Colton Lenz both rushed for two scores and Andrew Weltz hit Will Davey for a 34-yard touchdown pass.
Lenz had 77 yards on 11 carries while Qvam had five totes for 71 yards.
Polson rolled up 325 yards on the ground.
Weltz was 3 of 4 passing for 61 yards.
Luke May and Walter Holliday hooked up for an 80-yard touchdown strike in the fourth quarter for Whitefish (3-3, 1-1).
May was 22 of 38 passing for 280 yards.
“I was really pleased with how we ran the ball,” Polson coach Scott Wilson said.
“Defensively, they have a good passing game and we held them in check. It was a good overall effort.”

LIBBY — Daniel Lebsock, David Anderson and Matt Price ran for two touchdowns each as Frenchtown rolled past Libby in Northwestern A play.
Frenchtown (3-1, 1-0) led 18-14 at the half.
Jared Winslow ran for two touchdowns and passed for three for Libby (3-3, 0-2).
Winslow was 17 of 32 passing for 374 yards. He also led the ground attack with 84 yards on 17 attempts.
Libby’s Kraig Nelson caught six passes for 120 yards and a TD.
Danny Leggins totaled 161 yards on four catches and two touchdowns.

Zach Darling had two touchdown runs for Columbia Falls (2-3). Darling finished with 79 yards on the ground on six carries.
