Lola Guidi, 85

Lola Guidi, 85, “passed on to life eternal” surrounded by her family on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

Lola was born in Belgrade on Jan. 25, 1927, to Elwin W. and Otamey E. Mack. She was the youngest of four children. As a young child she moved to Butte. Growing up, Lola enjoyed the out-of-doors and spent as much time as possible in the mountains. She attended Butte High School and was a lifelong Bulldog fan.

Lola married Gar Guidi on Jan. 1, 1946, in Butte. They enjoyed many years camping, fishing and hunting throughout Montana. A special place in their hearts was their property in the Jefferson Valley.  Lola and Gar raised their three children to love the outdoors as much as they did. Lola was very active in Scouting. She was a den mother and a trainer of den mothers. Lola was very proud to have been awarded a lifetime membership in the Boy Scouts of America. She was a talented seamstress. She made clothes and costumes for her children. Lola loved doing crafts and crocheting. She was a member of the Marian White Arts and Crafts Club of Butte and the Democratic Women's Club in Kalispell. Lola  was also a member of the Butte Assembly of God Church. Lola was a fine cook and worked for several years as a baker for Rush's Pie Shop.

She was blessed with four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She delighted in all of their accomplishments.

Lola is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Rick Dotson of Lakeside; her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Darlene Guidi of Oklahoma; and her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Doris Guidi of Kalispell. She is also survived by grandchildren Crystal Thurman, Jennie and Ethan Stapp, Rachel Guidi, and Adam and JillAnn Guidi. Her great-grandchildren are Paige, Kara and Grayden. She is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Al and Mary Guidi, and several nieces and nephews.

 Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Gar; her parents; her sisters, Viola Yerman and Marie Rebich; and her brother, Eugene Mack.   

Cremation has taken place and Lola’s life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Assembly of God Church in Butte. Pastor Darrell Newby of Columbia Falls will officiate.
