Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will hold public liaison meetings next week about conservation easements in the Swan Valley and the Thompson-Fisher river valleys.

The meetings are required annually to provide a forum for discussion of any issues that may arise with respect to the public use, access, conditions related to public lands that were secured through conservation easements.

The Swan Liaison Team meeting will be Oct. 1 at the Swan Lake Ranger Station in Bigfork from 1 to 3 p.m.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks holds 16,553 acres of lands that were secured through easements with The Nature Conservancy and the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation.

The Thompson-Fisher Liaison Team meeting will be Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to noon at Fish, Wildlife and Parks headquarters on Meridian Road in Kalispell.

The state holds easements on 142,000 acres of Plum Creek Timber Co. lands in the two river valleys.
