Bloody nose doesn't deter thief

Kalispell Police got a report Sunday about a man riding a bicycle with a child carrier trailer in tow who showed up at store on Third Avenue East North, running into a post and bloodying his face. After the crash, the man reportedly got up and stole about eight bundles of firewood from the store before riding off.

The man was followed by a store employee, and eventually detained by an officer. He was taken to the hospital for medical care and then to jail.

There was a report of a man and woman who had been drinking causing a verbal disturbance at a hotel on East Idaho.

There was a report of a woman attempting to steal tobacco products from a store on Third Avenue East North. The theft attempt failed, and the store banned would-be shoplifter in the future.

There was a report of a “repeal the airport vote” sign being stolen from a yard on Fifth Avenue West.

At about 1 a.m. Monday, a Teal Drive resident reported that he caught two people trying to gain entry through his front door and then trying to break into his garage with a crow bar.

At about 1:30 a.m., officers assisted a man who was passed out and vomiting on First Avenue West.

After a traffic stop on Seventh Avenue West, someone was arrested for drunken driving.

There was a report of a warehouse broken into on Eighth Avenue West North sometime over the weekend.

There was a report of several trucks vandalized on East Oregon Street.

There was a report of an intoxicated vagrant person attempting to steal a 55-gallon barrel from a location in the Kalispell area. The man gave up on the barrel and left in a taxi cab.

 

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday regarding an unwanted, intoxicated man refusing to leave a residence on Jensen Road in the Columbia Falls area.

A man reported that a woman who had purchased property from him on Granite Hill Road was now regularly trespassing on neighboring property the man still owns.

There was a report of mailboxes being taken out, possibly by a vehicle, on East Cottonwood Drive in Evergreen.

A man calling from a Montana 35 address in the Kalispell area said that after he complained about neighbor kids playing basketball, a residential manager threatened to kick him out, and she allegedly charged his door, shoving it into his head.

There was a report regarding people on motorcycles driving up and down a bicycle path on Valley Drive.

A woman calling from a Bernard Road residence reported that a man she was arguing with was breaking her belongings, including an Xbox 360 gaming console. The argument was apparently about her smoking while pregnant.

 

Whitefish Police got a report Sunday from a Fairway Drive resident regarding the theft of a 3-foot by 5-foot Irish flag and a pole.

 

Columbia Falls Police got a report Sunday about a dispute between neighbors in the Fifth Avenue West area. A man was unhappy with his neighbor for running a diesel truck and smogging up his yard. The neighbor reportedly threatened to assault the reporting party. Both were counseled.

There was a report of a bicycle stolen from a residence on Ninth Street West.

At about 4:40 a.m. Monday, there was a report of a loud party that had been going on for hours at a Seventh Street West address. The partiers were told to calm it down.
