Actors group offers theater workshop

| April 3, 2013 6:30 PM

Bigfork Community Players are hosting a theater workshop April 20.

From Page to Stage will teach theater lovers how to breathe life into the two-dimensional world of words. The class focuses on translating text into stage action.

Using poetry, short stories and found text, the workshop will focus on different staging techniques and working as an ensemble to solve “impossible” moments, as well as finding the heartbeat of the story.

The workshop leader is Monique Kleinhans, who has more than 18 years of professional theater experience and is a core member of Seattle-based touring company theater simple. She is skilled in developing new works and leading ensemble-building writing and performance workshops. She also specializes in collaborative work and creating site-specific performance pieces for all ages.

The session will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts and is open to performers, directors, teachers and writers. Cost is $20 for Bigfork Community Players members, $25 for students and $30 general admission.
