Youth Image Project is a community nonprofit photography program dedicated to expanding opportunities for local youths at risk through arts-based education and support.
The group’s mission is to empower at-risk teenagers by providing photographic training with which they can share their personal visions, expand their skill sets and advance their life opportunities. Youth Image Project provides free digital photography classes for at-risk teens that include one-on-one mentors and community service projects. Tuition, cameras and all materials are provided.
Over the past year, Youth Image Project students have researched and documented a variety of local community organizations including Alpine Kids! Theatre Project, Stumptown Art Studio, Whitefish Pilot, CASA for Kids, Purple Frog Gardens, Humane Society of Northwest Montana, S.A.M.S. Riders, Wildlife Return, Center for Restorative Youth Justice, Kalispell’s free lunch program and Flathead Youth Home's Glacier Challenge.
