Snowplowing got underway this week on Glacier National Park’s Going-to-the-Sun Road.

As of Thursday, the west-side crew had advanced beyond the Loop, about 22 miles from the park’s west entrance.

Meanwhile, the park’s east-side road crew has been working on Two Medicine Road.

About 11 miles of the Sun Road is currently open to vehicle travel on the west side of the park, and vehicles can travel about five miles on the east side.

Hikers and bikers can travel 5.5 miles beyond the road gate at Lake McDonald Lodge to the Avalanche campground area. On the east side of the park, there are no hiker-biker restrictions beyond the road gate at Rising Sun.
