Harold F. Strey, 95

Harold F. Strey, 95, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls. 

He was born on April 6, 1918, in Renville, Minn., to Albert and Ida (Reitz) Strey . 

Harold entered the Army in 1942, and served until 1945.

He married Edith Trulock on March 20, 1950, and worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for five years and then at the ARCO Aluminum plant in Columbia Falls until his retirement in 1980.

Harold was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He also read the Bible and played the guitar.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith; two brothers; and two sisters.

Harold is survived by his son, Harold “Butch” Strey Jr. and wife, Heather; and four stepdaughters, Loretta Buller, Elsie Schulz, Lois Hanson and Cherryl and Jerry Zander; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Monday, April 15 at 1 p.m. at Columbia Mortuary with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Glacier Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
