A 58-year-old man pleaded guilty April 4 in Flathead District Court to his sixth offense of drunken driving.

Marvin Pomeroy, 58, was pulled over by a Montana Highway Patrol trooper on Feb. 10 after being registered traveling 71 miles per hour in a 60-miles-per-hour zone. Pomeroy had slurred speech and watery eyes, failing both field sobriety tests and a breath alcohol test.

At the Flathead County Detention Center, Pomeroy took another breath alcohol test, which marked his blood alcohol level at nearly two-and-a-half times the legal limit.

His prior convictions for drunken driving came in July 1987, July 1991, July 1992, October 1993 and November 1994.

Pomeroy faces between 13 months and five years with the Department of Corrections and a fine of between $1,000 and $10,000 when he is sentenced May 14.
