Award-winning trio in concert

| April 17, 2013 6:30 PM

An award-winning group will close out Flathead Valley LIVE on Stage’s 2012-13 concert season April 25.

Prima Trio is known not only for its remarkable musical talent but its eclectic selection of music.

The group’s program ranges from beloved chamber music standards to such exotic gems as Armenian composer Aram Khatchaturian’s soulful “Trio for Violin, Clarinet and Piano” and S.I. Glick’s festive “The Klezmer’s Wedding.” “Serenade” by American composer Peter Schickele (aka P.D.Q. Bach) is the grand finale of every concert.

Prima Trio formed in 2004 when its members were studying at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. The group includes Gulia Gurevich on violin and viola, Boris Allekhverdyan on clarinet and Anastasia Dedik on piano. The group’s accolades include winning grand prize and the gold medal at the prestigious Fischoff Chamber Music Competition

The performance is hosted by Flathead Valley LIVE on Stage (formerly Flathead Valley Concerts Association). Show time is 7:30 p.m. in the Flathead High School auditorium.

Admission is by season ticket or $30 at the door for all adults. Students pay $15.

Anyone who has purchased a season ticket for 2013-14 before this performance will be admitted free by showing their season ticket receipt.
