Julie Dawn Shumpert, 57

| April 18, 2013 4:00 PM

On Saturday, April 13, 2013, “The Great Spirit came to take his child, Julie Dawn Shumpert home with him.”

Julie was born to her mother Eleanor and father Kenneth at Kalispell Regional Hospital on June 15, 1955.

She spent her life surrounded by people that love her dearly. Her daughter Misty was her pride and joy, as Julie would say, "She's the one good thing I ever did."

Julie was a free spirit, extremely proud to be an American, and she answered solely to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Julie was brought up in the Swan Lake area. She was also a member of Assiniboine Native American tribe. Though at times Julie was stubborn, she had a heart of gold.

Julie is survived by her husband of 23 years, Edmon Shumpert; their daughter, Misty Dawn Shumpert-Weber; her son, Edmon Lenard, and his four children; her unofficially adopted daughter, Marcy Franklin; and her sisters, Debra Jean Byers and Lavelle Toycen.

She will be remembered at 1 p.m. Friday, April 19, with services at the Whitefish Credit Union in Columbia Falls. All friends and family are invited to attend.

Columbia Mortuary is caring for Julie’s family. You are invited to go to www.columbiamortuary.com to offer condolences and to view Julie’s tribute wall.
