MISSOULA — Flathead’s softball team pulled out a pair of tight Western AA road wins Saturday, edging Missoula Hellgate 6-5 and 3-2 in 10 innings.

Flathead (4-5 overall, 2-2 league) dropped a league doubleheader to Glacier on Thursday.

“That was very exciting for us, especially coming off those Thursday games,” Flathead coach Ashley Fusaro said.

“The girls battled every inning.”

Fusaro said the JV also won a doubleheader.

“That’s great for our program and for their confidence,” she said.

Flathead took a 6-5 lead in the first game with a three-run sixth inning.

Kaylee Henderson, Shayla Tweet, Lynsey Potter, Kijrstjn Kruse and Mackenzie Twichel all had two hits to pace the Bravettes.

Sidney Alberts had three hits for Flathead in the second game, including a standup triple. Abbie O’Brien and Iris Matulevich both had two.
