Building at FVCC to be dedicated
Flathead Valley Community College invites the community to attend the April 30 dedication of The Rebecca Chaney Broussard Center for Nursing and Health Science.
The dedication will take place at 4 p.m. Building tours and light refreshments will follow.
The Broussard Center is the first privately funded building on the Kalispell campus thanks to a generous gift from the Broussard Family and contributions from the community.
The 32,000-square-foot, one-story building houses FVCC’s nursing and health-related programs as well as the college’s first student health clinic.
It is the ninth building on the college’s 216-acre campus, designed to be similar to existing buildings by CTA Architects and constructed by Swank Enterprises.
Becky Broussard, a nurse and philanthropist for whom the building is named, is honored on opaque glass windows at the entrance to the nursing school on the west wall of the lobby.
The east wall recognizes the many community members and organizations whose gifts helped complete the project. An original painting, “Fertile Ground,” inspired by the Bibler Home and Gardens in Kalispell and painted by Nancy Cawdrey, hangs on the south wall.
