Ryan O’Rourke has resigned as Glacier High School’s head boys soccer coach.

O’Rourke, the only head boys soccer coach in school history, coached Glacier to three straight state tournament appearances from 2009-2011. He spent six seasons as the head coach.

“It’s really just a matter of time,” O’Rourke said. “There’s a lot of time invested in being a varsity coach at the AA level. I just needed a little time to devote to other areas in life.

“It was a very difficult decision. I really enjoy the coaching. I’ve always loved the game of soccer.

“On top of that, I really enjoyed working as a coach at Glacier. It’s a good place to work, there’s a lot of excellent coaches at Glacier and I enjoy working with Mark Dennehy as athletic director.”

This fall, Glacier went 6-4-2 in the regular season before losing its state tournament play-in game to Missoula Sentinel.
