Special Olympics holds games in Kalispell

Special Olympics Montana, a 42-year-old movement that enables children and adults with intellectual disabilities to train for life through sports, will conduct its Area Games in Kalispell on Friday, April 26.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. at Legends Field in Kalispell.

Nearly 200 athletes will participate in the games representing nine delegations in the Flathead Valley. Together with coaches, athletes and volunteers, there will be 250 people involved.

A dance for participants will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel Kalispell. The public is invited to all events including the dance.
