POLSON (AP) — Two women, including one from Elmo, were killed and a Missoula resident was injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 93 North near St. Ignatius.
The Montana Highway Patrol says slushy roads may have contributed to side-impact crash between a passenger car and a full-sized pickup shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday.
All three passengers in the car were taken to Missoula hospitals, where two were declared dead, including Elmo resident Mary Virginia Smith, 91.
The name and age of the other victim, who reportedly was from Missoula, has not been released. The driver of the car was injured.
The patrol says the three people in the pickup escaped injury.
