Libby author Cyrus Lee has released a new e-book.

“Me & the ’53,” a made-in-Montana coming-of-age story, is available as a Kindle e-book on Amazon.com.

The book tells about a young boy’s memorable summer of 1965, when his world changes with the meeting of Scorchy Black, the new town blacksmith who rides into a small Montana town on a chopped ’53 Harley-Davidson. Loosely based on Lee’s own young life, the book focuses on living and learning while growing up during the summer of ’65.

Lee, who authors and publishes the Soldat military history and collecting series, had wanted to catch hold of a theme for a novel but had gotten nowhere with various ideas. His desire to produce something to share when he and his daughter went to a local writer’s group, while simultaneously working on a project with a buddy in the motorcycle business, was the spark he needed to crank out the initial chapter of the book.

After that chapter was well-received by the members of the group, Lee cranked out more ideas and chapters, putting together his first novel.

Says Lee: “‘Me & the ’53’ reads across a wide audience, from children to adults, from women to men. Even if you have never ridden a motorcycle, readers will enjoy the story that speaks to life in small-town Montana and the core values found there.”
