Valley Voices in concert May 11
The Valley Voices Community Choir will present its spring concert, “In Song We Unite,” May 11 at Flathead High School.
The free concert will begin at 7 p.m. under the direction of Allyson Kuechmann in the Flathead High auditorium.
The 70-member choir has been rehearsing for three months to entertain audiences with pieces such as “The Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre, “Arms Around the World,” “The Rhythm of Life” (from the musical “Sweet Charity”), Stephen Foster’s “If You’ve Only Got a Moustache,” the traditional gospel tune “Down to the River to Pray,” “This Little Light of Mine,” and many more. In keeping with tradition, a patriotic number, “In Song We Unite,” will also be performed.
Special musicians include Andre Floyd and David Griffith accompanying the choir when they sing “Imagine” by John Lennon.
Kuechmann has been director of the Valley Voices Community Choir for 12 years. Beth Brown, accompanist, has been with the choir for most of that time.
Valley Voices is a nonprofit choir and includes singers from ages 18 to 80.
