| April 24, 2013 5:00 PM

Costco will host a book-signing event for Ron Valiquette, author of “Dancing with Celia — Surviving a Pacific Coast Hurricane” from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday.

Costco is located at 2330 U.S. 93 N., Kalispell.

For 32 years, Valiquette, of Polson, lived with the memories of 52 hours in an ocean hurricane, before finding a measure of peace through putting his story in print. “Dancing with Celia” details the circumstances that placed yachtsman Valiquette in the middle of Hurricane Celia and praises the valor and bravery of the U.S. Coast Guard members who saved him and his crew.

Celia began as a tropical storm that ravaged the California and Oregon coasts in the summer of 1980, and ultimately developed into a storm that created 10-story-high swells and hit land at Tillamook Bay, Ore.

The book was published last June by Port Hole Publications of Polson and Florence, Ore. Order “Dancing with Celia” through www.portholepublications.com, at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com, and at other book retailers.
