Baseball: Rain halts play at Class A tourney

HELENA — Rain washed out three of four games, including Libby’s opener against Helena, on day one of the Class A American Legion baseball state tournament Thursday.

The Loggers were supposed to play the host Helena Reps at 7:30 p.m.

The Laurel Dodgers beat the Vauxhall (Alberta) Spurs 9-8 in 10 innings in the only game that was completed. The Glasgow Reds and the Lethbridge (Alberta) Miners were in the seventh inning when play was suspended. Glasgow leads 6-2.

The tournament will restart today at 1 p.m.
