Fire danger returns to high level
Despite some recent moisture in parts of the Flathead Valley, fire danger has moved back to high, according to a news release Tuesday from Flathead National Forest.
A high fire danger rating means:
v All fine dead fuels ignite readily and fires start easily from most causes.
v Unattended brush and campfires are likely to escape.
v Fires spread rapidly and short-distance spotting is common.
v High-intensity burning may develop on slopes or in concentrations of fine fuel.
v Fire may become serious and their control difficult unless they are attacked successfully while small.
Everyone is asked to be very careful with all flammable objects and ensure that all unattended fires are dead out.
