Bigfork troupe's season wraps up
Bigfork Summer Playhouse’s summer theater season wraps up this month.
There are only a few more chances to catch the four shows running at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts. Following is a run-down of those shows and the remaining dates they will be staged:
“Legally Blonde: The Musical”
When her boyfriend dumps her, sorority girl Elle Woods sets out to prove she’s not a dumb blonde. She succeeds, gets into Harvard Law School and sets out to win him back.
Performances: Tonight, Sunday and Aug. 23
“Chicago”
Ambitious chorus girl Roxie Hart murders her lover and goes to jail, where she joins another famous performer and murderer, Velma Kelly. The merry murderesses try to capitalize on pretrial publicity for the sake of acquittal and stage careers.
Performances: Friday and Wednesday
“Monty Python’s ‘Spamalot’”
Join King Arthur on his legendary quest to find the Holy Grail. But be prepared for surprises along the way in this musical, including a flatulent Frenchman, the Knights who say “ni” and, of course, killer rabbits.
Performances: Saturday and Aug. 22
“The Sound of Music”
The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic follows Maria, a would-be nun sent to serve as governess for Capt. von Trapp’s seven troublesome children. Along the way, she captures the hearts of the kids — and their father.
Performances: Tuesday and Aug. 24
Most show times are 8 p.m. Tickets are $28 for adults, $22 for seniors 65 and older and $15 for children 10 and younger.
