Gordon H. Iverson, 94

Gordon Iverson passed away on Aug. 6, 2013, in Spokane, at the age of 94.

He was born in Kalispell on Jan. 6, 1919, to Chris and Mary Iverson. The family lived west of town.

He married Betty Nauman in Kalispell in 1944, where he worked as a logger until he entered the Army during World War II. The family moved to Sacramento, Calif., in 1958, where they were employed, and also were active in the Lutheran Church and Sons of Norway Lodge.

The couple retired to Spokane in 1985, where they have resided since that time.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bernice Managhan and Clara Hanson; and two brothers, Iver and Clifford.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; their son, Dennis, and his wife, Barbara, of Cincinnati, Ohio; one grandson, Chris, his wife Rachel, and great-grandson Frank Gordon, all from New York City; one granddaughter, Amanda, of Palo Alto, Calif.; and multiple nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and reception will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25, at Calvary Lutheran Church at Highway 2 East and Evergreen Drive.

The family requests no flowers. Memorials can be made to the local food bank.
