Comments sought for local road projects

| August 19, 2013 9:45 AM

The Montana Department of Transportation is asking for public comments on four road resurfacing projects planned for the Kalispell area.

One project would improve about six-tenths of a mile of Two Mile Drive from just west of the Greenbriar Drive intersection to the intersection with Konley Drive.

Another improves about seven-tenths of a mile of West Evergreen Drive. That project would start at the east bridge end at the Whitefish River and continue east to the intersection with U.S. 2.

The state also plans to resurface about one mile of East Reserve Drive between U.S. 2 and Helena Flats Road and about 1.1 miles of Helena Flats Road between Montana Highway 35 and East Reserve Drive.

The surface of Two Mile Drive will be milled with a new overlay applied. All of the projects include upgraded pavement marking and signs along with a chip seal, state transportation officials said. No new right-of-way or utility relocation is needed for the work.

People can submit written comments about the projects online at www.mdt.mt.gov/mdt/comment_form.shtml or via mail to Montana Department of Transportation, P.O. Box 7039, Missoula, MT 59807-7039. Please note that comments are for project CN 7986000.
