Man says he 'shot her repeatedly'
A Kalispell man has been charged with attempted deliberate homicide for alleged shooting his wife several times Monday night.
According to charging documents, Steven Michael Foley, 39, called his ex-wife, Beth Foley, on Monday night to tell her that he had just shot his current wife, Jodi Stimson-Foley, three times with a .22 caliber firearm.
Kalispell Police responded to a home on Sixth Avenue West and found the wounded Stimson-Foley on the front porch.
She was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, where she underwent emergency surgery and initially was listed in critical condition.
During Steven Foley’s initial appearance in Justice Court Wednesday, officials said the surgery was successful.
Shortly after the shooting, officers located and apprehended Foley several blocks away.
Under questioning, Foley waived his rights and said “he concealed a gun from Stimson-Foley, walked into the living room where she was, and then pulled the gun out and shot her repeatedly,” court documents state.
Foley remained in the county jail Thursday, and Justice of the Peace Dan Wilson set his bail at $150,000. He is scheduled to enter a plea in Flathead County District Court Sept. 5.
