The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a bevy of drug-related calls Thursday.

At 3:12 p.m., a Concord Lane resident requested an extra patrol due to groups of adults using drugs bicycling through the neighborhood.

An animal cruelty call at 3:58 p.m. regarding a cat found in a bag “on the north side of the river” uncovered a group of young girls smoking drugs.

At 6:26 p.m., a woman helping her mom move out of a South Cedar Drive residence reported people doing drugs at a nearby house that was supposed to be empty.

An observant woman reported her belief that she had just witnessed a drug deal on Montana 35 after seeing an exchange of money followed by two youths taking off on foot.

At 8:32 p.m., a woman believed to be on drugs or drunk was reported rolling around on the ground along Second Avenue South in Hungry Horse. The woman was cleared by medical personnel and released to her father.

A Conrad Drive woman contacted the sheriff’s office after her cat was shot with a pellet gun some time the prior night. The woman had confirmed with her vet that the cat had been shot in the back, and the animal had to be euthanized due to its injuries. She was told that nothing could be done without a witness, but she said she at least wanted it reported in case it happened again.

A nasty neighbor on Park Street was reported for threatening to shoot and assault youths in the neighborhood.

A man was pushed to the ground and kicked in the head on U.S. 2 West near Columbia Falls.

A Whitefish Police officer reported third-hand information of someone setting off fireworks at the skate park.

A manager of a Nucleus Avenue bar contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department to report there was a restraining order against the business, so it had been closed for two days, and the manager had just received a call that there was a truck and trailer behind the bar and that people were carrying furnishings out. The manager suspected her stepmother.
