Operating hours for many visitor services in Glacier National Park will begin to change after Labor Day weekend.

Operating hours will be curtailed for campgrounds, concessions, boat inspections, and issuing backcountry permits.

Labor Day is the last day of free shuttle transportation service reaching Logan Pass and locations along Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Rehabilitation work on Sun Road will continue through the fall. Paving between Avalanche Creek and Logan Creek has been completed but minor traffic delays will continue as other work along the road continues.

Rehabilitation work on the east side of the park between Rising Sun and Siyeh Bend will continue with 20-maximum traffic delays, and a complete closure of the road section will be in place after 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

To allow for accelerated construction work, the last day to reach Logan Pass from the east entrance will be Sept. 22.

From the west, vehicle access to Logan Pass will be available through Oct. 20, weather permitting.

For information about schedules for campgrounds, visitor centers and other services in the park, visitors should call 888-7800 or go to the park’s website at www.nps.gov/glac.
