Big response for a little blaze
A report of a structure fire on Rogers Lake Road initially led to the dispatching of the Smith Valley, Kalispell, South Kalispell, West Valley and Marion fire departments as well as West Flathead EMS before it was determined that the fire — in a garbage can in the home’s attached garage — was out. The resident asked for help getting her car moved out of the garage, but refused to leave the home due to her concern that she would freeze.
A 16-year-old girl on Pheasant Drive finally calmed down after a Flathead County Sheriff’s deputy arrived at the home following a fight with her father. She was reported screaming and fighting, throwing things around in her room and destroying things because her father — who had to hold her down to restrain her — confronted her about getting in trouble at school that day.
A resident of a U.S. 93 apartment complex reported a group of youths speeding through the parking lot in a car. When he asked them to slow down, the smell of burning marijuana wafted from the vehicle.
A Foothill Road man in Bigfork reported his neighbors’ German shepherds were acting viciously toward him and his children, and that the neighbors had intimidated his children. The report was later changed to a barking dog complaint.
A River Butte woman in Columbia Falls complained that a pump company employee was there for 10 minutes, flipped a switch and charged her $100 for the service.
A hungry but friendly pit bull was reported running loose on First Street South West in Hungry Horse. The dog was later caught after a subsequent call and its owner cited.
A man was reported calling and being abusive toward employees of a Somers Road bar.
Prescription medications were stolen from a Montana 35 property.
The Kalispell Police Department assisted the Ronan Police Department in handling a problem suspect Wednesday evening. The Ronan chief reported his officers were transporting the felony suspect to Kalispell Regional Medical Center, that the man had been combative all evening, and that he was concerned that when the man came out of sedation, he would be combative again.
Shortly after the man’s arrival at the hospital, an emergency room employee called police to confirm the Ronan chief’s suspicions, reporting that the man was awake and that they needed an officer to respond.
A Conway Drive clinic employee contacted police after a 12-year-old boy was brought in for a broken clavicle, suffered when the boy was hit and thrown on the ground by another student at school earlier that day.
A confused man reported a woman came up to him on Montana 35 and asked him for money, then started pushing him and calling him by another name before slapping him in the face and retreating into a nearby apartment building.
A man was cited for disturbing the peace after being loud at a Two Mile Drive apartment building, turning up his music and banging on the walls.
A concerned resident reported no one stops for the crossing guard at Northern Lights Boulevard and Liberty Street both before and after school hours.
A teller with a bad knee accidentally bumped a hold-up alarm at a U.S. 93 North bank.
A Windward Way mother reported her 16-year-old daughter kicked in a door before leaving the house.

A Whitefish Police officer arrested a man after he was reported twice for fighting outside a Central Avenue bar.
A woman was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in municipal court for traffic offenses. She was booked and released with instructions to appear at the court within five days.
A man was arrested for drunken driving by a Columbia Falls Police officer after a witness saw him drinking out of a pint container while driving in the area of Talbot Road.
An observant employee reported a couple came into a Ninth Street West business trying to sell silver coins that he did not believe belonged to them. He shared with police information from one of their driver’s licenses.
A Meadow Lake Boulevard man requested an officer stop by to deal with another man who has no license but continues to drive.
